Principal's Message
Hello Baxter family,
Welcome to Baxter School home of Community Youth Services. I am honored to serve the students, staff, and families as the new principal at Baxter. This program offers unique educational opportunities for students needing a more restrictive or alternative type of educational setting. Students will be engaged in academic curriculum as well as the social and emotional supports necessary to return to their home school.
I am currently in my 26th year with Richmond Community Schools. I started my career in RCS in the Levels Program when it was housed at the State Hospital school. Since then I have served the families and students at Baxter, Fairview, Westview and Crestdale as well as the exceptional learners across the district. I am excited to return to the program at Baxter.

The staff at Richmond Community Youth Services works daily to meet the needs of all of our students.
While our expertise is in working with students with significant behavioral difficulties, we are also known as being on the cutting edge in the use of a variety of research based instructional strategies to bring about the improvement of students with academic difficulties. We model a "zero reject philosophy" and a "whatever it takes" attitude on a daily basis.
